Each October we spend a week at The Sea Ranch with a group of friends who have been gathering for the last thirty years or so. This year our visit coincided with a full moon. The two days prior to full moon were clear an warm. On October 18, Lisa and I headed out to the Point Arena Lighthouse at 5:30am to try to get a shot of the full moon setting with the lighthouse in the foreground. It just so happens the fog decided to form and obscure the full moon. So, as the first light of the day hit the Pacific Coast, I took this six image panorama of the lighthouse and ocean. I used a Nikon D800, Zeiss 50mm f/1.4 lens, shooting at ISO 100, f/5.6 at a 3 second shutter speed. The white balance was set for cloudy conditions. I use a Really Right Stuff Pano Pivot on a TVC-33 tripod with a BH-55 ballhead.
