Friday March 16, aboard the Andrea in the Reykjavik Harbor we had a fantastic Northern Lights display which continued into the 17th. Since I grew up using film cameras I have always been reluctant to shoot ISO's exceeding 800 due to the noise and graininess of high ISO film of my pre digital days. On this night I cranked the ISO on my Nikon D810 up to 10,000 to 12,600 and it worked. There was still a lot of noise that I had to clean up in post processing, but it worked.
